(Potential) Books-to-Movies: Thrillers

Lately, I've been seeing a ton of blurbs for books that have given me the chills, and have me going, "Oh. My. God. I NEED TO READ THIS TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!". And I thought what cool thrillers they would make if they were made into movies. The blurbs of these couple of books DEFINITELY have movie potential, ones that would make people flock to see it, ones that certainly would have me staying up at night, shivering for the creepiness of it all. The titles lead to the Goodreads pages!

LOUD AWAKE AND LOST
by Adele Griffin

12 November 2013 ● Knopf Books for Young Readers

LOUD. There was an accident. Ember knows at least that much. She was driving. The car was totaled. She suffered back injuries and brain trauma. But she is alive. That's the only thing left she can cling to.

AWAKE. Eight months later, Ember feels broken. The pieces of her former self no longer fit together. She can't even remember the six weeks of her life leading up to the accident. Where was she going? Who was she with? And what happened during those six weeks that her friends and family won't talk about?

LOST. One by one, Ember discovers the answers to these questions, like a twisted game of dominos. And little by little, the person she used to be slips further and further away.

FIND ME
by Romily Bernard

24 September 2013 ● HarperTeen

"Find Me." These are the words written on Tessa Waye's diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa's just been found...dead.

Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister Lily is the next target. Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick.

Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick's deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.

But she's going to find this killer no matter what.

Because it just got personal.

When a simple round of truth or dare spins out of control, three girls find it’s no longer a party game. It’s do or die.

It all started on a whim: the game was a way for Tenley Reed to reclaim her popularity, a chance for perfect Caitlin “Angel” Thomas to prove she’s more than her Harvard application. Loner Sydney Morgan wasn’t eventhere; she was hiding behind her camera like usual. But when all three start receiving mysterious dares long after the party has ended, they’re forced to play along—or risk exposing their darkest secrets.

And that is all! I'm sure there are a lot more creepy/thriller-esque books out there, that are both upcoming or have already been released, so do let me know in the comments :)
This isn't a regular feature, but if you do want to be, do let me know! I have fun when it comes to books that should be movies, even if it's just based on the blurb itself.

Hope you're all having a great week, and sorry for the lack of posting– exams are coming up, so definitely after the 19th, a whole ton of posts should be coming in. Loads of love until then!

  1. Ooo, great list! We just posted about horror/thriller titles too: http://www.weheartya.com/2013/04/shock-shock-horror-horror.html

The "I Hunt Killers" series would make a great movie or TV show.
