Waiting on Wednesday – Week 141

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It’s to spotlight upcoming books that I’m DYING to get my hands on!

This week’s WoW is:
The White Rose by Amy Ewing

**WARNING: Contains spoilers from book 1, The Jewel**
Violet is on the run. After the Duchess of the Lake catches Violet with Ash, the hired companion at the Palace of the Lake, Violet has no choice but to escape the Jewel or face certain death. So along with Ash and her best friend, Raven, Violet runs away from her unbearable life of servitude.

But no one said leaving the Jewel would be easy. As they make their way through the circles of the Lone City, Regimentals track their every move, and the trio barely manages to make it out unscathed and into the safe haven they were promised—a mysterious house in the Farm.

But there’s a rebellion brewing, and Violet has found herself in the middle of it. Alongside a new ally, Violet discovers her Auguries are much more powerful than she ever imagined. But is she strong enough to rise up against the Jewel and everything she has ever known?

The White Rose is a raw, captivating sequel to The Jewel that fans won’t be able to put down until the final shocking moments.

I really enjoyed The Jewel (read my review HERE) but it was the ending that BLEW MY MIND. Holy moly cannoli. I’m still reeling from it. I’m super happy though, because Edelweiss just uploaded The White Rose for download and muahahaha I HAVE AUTO-APPROVAL. YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS. Can’t wait to start this one! However, it does sound kinda dystopian-clichéd because there’s a rebellion (surprise, surprise) and guess who’s going to be the star?? If you guessed Violet, DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNAAAAAA. Anyway, still looking forward to this one nonetheless, especially if it’s gonna have a shocking twist at the end again.

What are you waiting on?

  1. The Jewel's cover really reminds me of The Selection Series. Haha!

I want to read the first book too! And great pick! We're both waiting on Wednesday for book 2 of a series!

    1. Yes! I totally agree–I think it’s the super pretty dresses, haha!
And yes, omg so happy about Harper Auto-approval but it’s kinda bad because I end up going on a downloading spree *hangs head in shame*

I couldn’t for some reason reply to your reply to my comment on your blog (lol) and so I’ll just do it here –– I don’t really know why I couldn’t read the final books– I think I couldn’t just find a copy and basically time went on and I can’t really remember what happens in the previous two books in both series :P but yes, I NEED THE FIRST BOOK!!! :D

  2. I actually didn't like The Jewel... at all. D: And I could get this one on Edelweiss but I'm not so sure yet. I'll probably wait for some more early reviews to come in. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, though! :D
