Waiting on Wednesday – Week 143

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It’s to spotlight upcoming books that I’m DYING to get my hands on!

This week’s WoW is:
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Shopaholic series comes a terrific blend of comedy, romance, and psychological recovery in a contemporary YA novel sure to inspire and entertain.

An anxiety disorder disrupts fourteen-year-old Audrey’s daily life. She has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

At first, from the title alone, I thought this was going to involve Audrey Hepburn–I think I got mixed up with another YA book. Anyway, after I saw that Sophie Kinsella had written a YA book, I just about died. I’m not usually a fan of Adult books, but Adult Chick-Lit I totally dig. I’ve only read Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella, but absolutely LOVED it. Hoping that this one still has some of Kinsella’s traditional humour despite the slightly darker topic.

What are you waiting on?

  2. I got this one from the pub! It was unsolicited and I won't have time so I doubt I'll be reading it, but that would have been nice. I've never read anything by the author. I hope you enjoy this book when you read it!

    Have a fabulous day :)
