#TurtlesAlltheWayCountDown: Week 1 – The Unboxing

Hi everyone!

Penguin Random House is having a John Green read-along to promote the release of his latest novel, Turtles All the Way Down! Every week will feature a John Green book, right up until the big release.

Week 1: THE UNBOXING

Thank you so much to Julia at Penguin Random House International for the mail!

I'm super excited to get back into John Green's books–I haven't read one in AGES, and I've read almost all of them...except for Will Grayson, Will Grayson, so now's the perfect time to do so!

Tell me:
which John Green book is your favourite?

Stacking the Shelves (39)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, sharing the books I've acquired in the past few weeks. I'm finally back to blogging after taking my GRE for the third (and thankfully final since YA GURL GOT THE SCORES SHE WANTED!) time, and there's a lot to catch up with, so hopefully this means back to a regular flow of posts. Not blogging for a while also means that there are a ton of books that I got, so here it goes!

Here are the books I borrowed:

Gone by Michael Grant ● Review
Hunger by Michael Grant
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

For some reason–which irks me a little, not gonna lie–I put the third book in the Shatter Me series above the second. What is this random order, Rabiah?! Anyway, thanks to my awesome friend Richa I'm FINALLY getting to some series that I started AGES ago, but never finished. I just finished Unravel Me (review coming soon!) and should will be done by the series early next week.

Here are the books I got for review:

The Invasion by Peadar O'Guilin (ARC)
What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum

Here is what I got from the SG Bookdeals Books Box Sale:

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Ashes to Ashes by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Love, Lies and Spies by Cindy Anstey
100 Sideways Miles by Andrew Smith

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

I also got a Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland colouring book! I am super happy with all the books I got, and I can't wait to start reading them.

There are definitely quite a lot of books I'm missing out on, so definitely share more recommendations in the comments! I sadly haven't read many YA (or MG) books featuring Muslim main characters or books written by Muslim authors, but I'm hoping that will change soon, because representation is important you guys! #WeNeedDiverseBooks

Also, I'm seriously impressed with younger me's photoshop skills. Look at that meme banner!

Anyway, Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews, sharing the books I got this week! (Actually, I'm going to be sharing my haul since I came back from my holiday–so the past 2ish weeks it is!)

Swag

(hehe you can see my toes)
[Going left to right]

Along with two copies of Frost by Kathryn James, 8 shiny bookmarks came as well. With a copy of Pieces by Michelle Davidson Argyle (which shall be shown during the next IMM... it's currently with Richa), a bunch of assorted bookmarks came through with three of her own, The BreakawayPieces, and Bonded, and 2 were other titles: Everbound by Brodi Ashton and Transparent by Natalie Whipple.
Next to that is a bookmark for one of Jennifer Archer's novels, Through Her Eyes. Next to that, Tara Sullivan sent along quite a lot of swag, including Class of 2k13 bookmarks (5 currently with me, and the rest with Richa), postcards for her upcoming book Golden Boy and well as some stickers!!
Squishing in at the end (because it was quite a lot of swag) Kathy McCullough sent along bookmarks and trading cards for her books Don't Expect Magic and the sequel Who Needs Magic? Included were some bookplates as well as a pretty business card :)

A TON of amazing swag– and you all know you guys could win some of this loot. Woo-hoo! Thank you once again to all the authors mentioned above (Michelle Davidson Argyle, who was only mentioned in the swag section) and really this event is becoming even better and better :D

A couple of giveaways going on at the moment for the event, for Hooked by Liz Fichera and C.J. Flood (author of Infinite Sky), so be sure to check them out under the tabs bar. On my co-host Richa's blog there are also several going on at the moment:

**Win one of four signed copies of Fangtabulous– US ONLY – Enter Here
**Win a signed copy of Othermoon and swag – US/CAN ONLY – Enter Here
**Win either a finished copy or ARC copy of Pantomime – INTERNATIONAL! – Enter Here

As you can see, quite a lot of good stuff going on at the moment :) And gah, it's the last day of the Chinese New Year one-week break, so back to school for me tomorrow :( anyway, I guess I've talked long enough, so tell me:

What did you get in your mailbox this week, and what do you think of some of the titles for the BTG2013 event?
