High school junior Jenny Greenley is so good at keeping secrets that she's the school newspaper's anonymous advice columnist. She's so good at it that, when hotter-than-hot Hollywood star Luke Striker comes to her small town to research a role, Jenny is the one in charge of keeping his identity under wraps. But Luke doesn't make it easy, and soon everyone—the town, the paparazzi, and the tabloids alike—know his secret...and Jenny is caught right in the middle of all the chaos.

I've read this book countless times since the 6th or 7th grade. In fact, I can even remember a majority of the lines in this book. That's how many times I've read it. As you can see, I've read it again, because...

I LOVE THIS BOOK!

I'm seriously in love with Meg Cabot... ever since I picked up The Princess Diaries after watching the movie. I have to read every single one of her books, and I'm still on that ongoing conquest. She definitely is the Queen of Teen!

This book is one of the cute ones, and is kind of similar to another book of hers, How to Be Popular, which I equally adore. This one sparks my interest a bit more, because it has a advice column, a school publication, a totally hot movie star, and a sci-fi book-loving boy who can cook.

Okay, confession: I want to BE Jenny Greenly. Seriously, I wish I was as helpful and liked school-wide. Plus, because she's so trusted she gets to hang out with Luke Striker. And the jealousy continues.
SCOTT!! The love of my life. My ongoing crush since middle school. *sigh* Cabot sure knows how to write 'em. I also loved Luke Striker, he's the like-able movie star, and I like that how he's not portrayed as snobby, but actually really nice and sweet.

Trust me, if you've not read this book, you my friend, have been living under a rock. How dare you?! It's a disgrace to teen fiction! Do yourself a favor to get back your reputation and go read this book. It's funny, sweet and makes you want to re-live reading it for the first time over, and over, and over again. Meg Cabot: you never fail.

If you like this, try...

Waiting on Wednesday - Week 36

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It's to spotlight upcoming reads which I'm dying to get my hands on! (and sorry for the blurry image...this was the largest I could find!)

This week's WoW is:
Underworld (Abandon #2) by Meg Cabot

Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.

Seventeen-year-old Pierce Oliviera isn’t dead.

Not this time.

But she is being held against her will in the dim, twilit world between heaven and hell, where the spirits of the deceased wait before embarking upon their final journey.

Her captor, John Hayden, claims it’s for her own safety. Because not all the departed are dear. Some are so unhappy with where they ended up after leaving the Underworld, they’ve come back as Furies, intent on vengeance…on the one who sent them there and on the one whom he loves.

But while Pierce might be safe from the Furies in the Underworld, far worse dangers could be lurking for her there…and they might have more to do with its ruler than with his enemies.

And unless Pierce is careful, this time there’ll be no escape.

Release Date: May 28, 2012

30 Day Book Meme: Day 2

This is a meme I found at Chimneys and Magic. I love it! Sorry I missed a day though... I was flying from India to Singapore (back home)! But here we go:

Day 2 - A book that you've read more than 3 times

Teen Idol by Meg Cabot, without a doubt, has to be my most read book. I've been reading this one since I was in 6th grade! I've read this one so much, that I've borrowed it from a library 5+ times and then went out buy my own copy. NOW, the spine is worn out a bit, but I' love it so much. The humor in it is just so refreshing! I've actually memorized bits and pieces of this book. That's how many times I've read it.

Runner-up: How to Be Popular by Meg Cabot [I think her books are the ones I can read over and over and OVER again :D]

What's a book you've read so many countless times that you know what's going to happen...but you still do read it?

Top Ten Tuesday - Week 11

"Top Ten Tuesday" is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today's Top Ten is: Top Ten Characters I would want as Family Members. (btw: Love the new image for Top Ten Tuesday!)

1. Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I totally agree with The Broke and the Bookish. I would love to bond over with a sister like Elizabeth over books and stuff like that. She's just so strong and she could really stand up for me!

2. April Grace from In Front of God and Everybody by KD McCrite. I love this 11 year old girl. She's hilarious, loud-mouthed and amazingly smart for her age. She loves reading too!! (Review coming soon btw :D)

3. Sirius Black from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I would love him as a fictional dad/guardian or whatever. He's just so amazingly awesome and seems like he'd die for his son/godchild (which he does :(...).

4. Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I know, I know, he's a Hobbit! But he'd seem like an amazing grandfather. With a whole bunch of amazing stories to tell. Except for the ring part...that has to go.

5. Mia from The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. I love how Mia takes care of her little brother Rocky so well! Wish I could have an older sister like that :).

6. Jane from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I mean, she's young and all, but when she gets older, I would love her as a fictional mom. I mean, she's smart, loves literature and of course, the tragic and heartwarming romance is one thing I adore.

7. Junie B. Jones from Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park. This little girl is AH.MA.ZING. Love her hilarity (like April Grace!) and wish I had a little sister as crazy and silly as her.

8. Teddy from The Luxe by Anna Godbersen. I'd like him for an older brother! in the books, he's so sweet and caring to Elizabeth (even though she turned him down first) and he's an amazing friend.

9. Percy from Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I would like this guy to be my brother, doesn't matter if he's younger or older, but he's AWESOME!

10. Gale from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I didn't like his as a perfect match for Katniss or whatever, but I think he's fierce, determined and cares for his family. Would like him as an older bro!

Well, that's my list! What's your Top Ten? Leave a link/comment!

Cover Love - Week 9

"Cover Love" is a weekly meme I've adapted from 21 Pages. Here's this week's Cover Love theme (and one I thought was really cool from 21 Pages): Books with Hearts on the Cover.

The First one (or rather ones) I thought was the most obvious choice. The L.A. Candy series by Lauren Conrad.

(sorry for the out of order thing!)

L.A. Candy (AmazonGoodreads)
Sweet Little Lies (AmazonGoodreads)
Sugar and Spice (AmazonGoodreads)

I really want to read this one! The Sky is Everywhere (AmazonGoodreads) by Jandy Nelson.

I Love this book so much! :D The first Sarah Dessen I've ever read, This Lullaby (AmazonGoodreads).

Here's another one on my long wishlist! Twenty Boy Summer (AmazonGoodreads) by Sarah Ockler.

and lastly, a couple of amazing Meg Cabot's with Hearts on them :)

Every Boy's Got One (AmazonGoodreads)
Jinx (AmazonGoodreads)
Teen Idol (AmazonGoodreads)
Boy Meets Girl (AmazonGoodreads)
How To Be Popular (AmazonGoodreads)
The Princess Diaries, 3: Princess in Love (AmazonGoodreads)

Well, that's it for this week's Cover Love! This would have actually been ideal for Valentine's Day now that I think about it...oh well. What books do you love? Leave a link/comment!

Cover Love - Week 4

"Cover Love" is an amazing meme I've adapted from 21 Pages. This week's Cover Love is: Books where the Person has their back to the reader. It's an interesting one, and one that I've never considered. I found this amazing list on Goodreads.

Okay, so for the first one I found this one, which I've never really actually considered. A Great and Terrible Beauty and from the same series, The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray.

And then here, from the fabulous Vamp series, House of Night, is the books Betrayed and Untamed by PC and Kristin Cast.

and then here's one of the most amazing Meg Cabot books ever (well, love the guy!) and here's Jinx!

and here's a book I've never read before, but sounds AMAZING. The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams.

Here's two series (two and a half) with Nobody's Princess and Nobody's Prize (from the Nobody's series) and Sphinx's Princess by Esther Friesner.

well, that's it for this week's Cover Love! Leave a link in the comments to your Cover Love post, or post a comment with some titles that you know that have the theme of this week's Cover Love!

Prom Nights from Hell by Various Authors

In this exciting collection, bestselling authors Meg Cabot (How to Be Popular), Kim Harrison (A Fistful of Charms), Michele Jaffe (Bad Kitty), Stephenie Meyer (Twilight), and Lauren Myracle (ttyl) take bad prom nights to a whole new level—a paranormally bad level. Wardrobe malfunctions and two left feet don't hold a candle to discovering your date is the Grim Reaper—and he isn't here to tell you how hot you look.
From angels fighting demons to a creepy take on getting what you wish for, these five stories will entertain better than any DJ in a bad tux. No corsage or limo rental necessary. Just good, scary fun.

This was an AMAZING Collection of short stories. I love Paranormal Books, and I love how Meg Cabot and Stephenie Meyer (yes, I must confess, the only authors which I've read before out of the authors that wrote the short stories in this book) wrote stories amazingly good!

Meg Cabot NEVER disappoints. I mean, it's got everything a reader could indulge into. Cute Guy, Check. Interesting change to Vampires, Check. A Rockin' Heroine, Double Check. She can make any girl wish that she could trade places. I seriously this would be turned into a book. The Exterminator's Daughter was an amazing change (was "The Exterminator" a movie or something?) and I like the thing with 'Exterminating' Vampires. Kind like Insatiable. Can't wait for the 2nd book!

I've heard of Lauren Myracle's books, but never, unfortunately read them. The Corsage is indeed, really creepy, and amazing. It plays on the saying "be careful what you wish for" cause when the main girl wishes for somethings, it might not turn out to be the way things are planned. The Guy in this story didn't really speak to me actually. Yeah, but really good story, I only got a bit confused in the beginning, but whatever. I caught up a few pages later ;)

Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper was um, a bit confusing. I first didn't get where the Reaper part came in...yeah, but like the others, I caught on. I loved the guy :D. Amazingness. I wish it had continued. I mean, it seemed like a story I would really love to read. Hats off to you, Kim Harrison!

Michelle Jaffe's Kiss and Tell was amazing. For one thing, it was longer (I think) than the others, so I could really understand the characters and plot and stuff. It was fun, really different and the only part I didn't get was WHO Miranda Kiss was. But nevermind me. Loved the Funny bits, (they were hilarious) and it actually seemed like a complete story, like one, although I wish for more, seemed like it was okay if the story never continued and was left where it was.

Lastly, Stephenie Meyer. To tell the truth, I was actually expecting something with Vamps in it, not Angels and Demons, but anyway. Love, Love, LOVED the guy. Maybe almost as much as the guy in Meg Cabot's story. I guess, Fallen Angels seem to be the hottest thing now. Who knows? anyway, love how this story went, I'd much prefer it to Twilight and actually wish she writes a book continuing it. It just seems cool, y'kno? an Angel and Demon falling in love...

Out of all of these, the one I'd have to say was the best would be Michelle Jaffe's story, Kiss and Tell. It went outside the box, using paranormal/supernatural elements much differently than other authors who used Angels, Demons, Vampires, etc. and it was a much 'fuller' story. Loved the other stories though. Can't wait to read Vacations from Hell...should be as good!

All-American Girl by Meg Cabot

10. Her big sister is the most popular girl in school
9. Her little sister is a certified genius
8. She's in love with her big sister's boyfriend
7. She got caught selling celebrity portraits in school
6. And now she's being forced to take art classes
5. She's just saved the president of the United States from an assassination attempt
4. So the whole world thinks she's a hero
3. Even though Sam knows she is far, far from being a hero
2. And now she's been appointed teen ambassador to the UN
and the number one reason Sam's life is over?
1. The president's son just might be in love with her

This was the second time (or third?) I read this book. This book is a little (just a wee bit) unrealistic...but that just makes it even more fun.
This is what many people dream about... and Meg Cabot has done it again. All-American Girl is about those who do unexpected good things...sometimes REALLY good things, and how we're acknowledged for it. But what I really liked about how Meg Cabot wrote this book, is that it captures real emotions. Sam doesn't just become one big happy person and accept all that changes in her life. She goes through a tough time, become Teen Ambassador, standing up for what she wants and what's important for herself.
This is one of Meg Cabot's finest, and it was an amazing series, with a one-of-a-kind hero that we all wish we could be.

Hey Guys! Long Time, No Blog....

Hey!!! and I'M SORRY but lol, I haven't been able to catch up and type up blogs and stuff like that, so I'm telling you now, the books that I bought...since my last blog (starting with the oldest to most recent).

I already have done a blog for this one, and it was AMAZING as I have already said before, but I totally wanted to re-read it!
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel, and it keeps the Districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before. Survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity, and life against love.

Finished this one as well, and SO gonna do a review on it! Although this book was good, it wasn't AS GOOD as the previous ones.
Things have turned black at the House of Night.
- Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered.
With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast.
It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able to pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights.
As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her.
- But how? He will have to die to do so, the Vampire High Council stipulates.
And then Zoey will give up for sure.
There are only 7 days left…
Stevie Rae wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own.
The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences.
Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good.
The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world.

In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it).
She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not.
Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance.

Three girls… playing with fire… if they don’t watch out, everyone will get Burned.

This was a fave of mine when I was in 6th grade :)...I just had bought it, and now I really have to re-read it, 'cause I forgot everything that happened!
Carmen got the jeans at a thrift shop. They didn’t look all that great; they were worn, dirty, and speckled with bleach. On the night before she and her friends part for the summer, Carmen decides to toss them. But Tibby says they’re great. She’d love to have them. Lena and Bridget also think they’re fabulous. Lena decides they should all try them on. Whoever they fit best will get them. Nobody knows why, but the pants fit everyone perfectly. Even Carmen (who never thinks she looks good in anything), thinks she looks good in the pants. Over a few bags of cheese puffs they decide to form a sisterhood, and take the vow of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants . . . the next morning, they say good-bye. And now the journey of the pants–and the most memorable summer of their lives–begins. Filled with real-life troubles, almost any adolescent can sympathize with the sisterhood's hardships that they face.

yup, We bought (my sis and I) got now the whole series of these books, and I still don't remember what really happens...I have short-term memory loss! I'll be like DORY from Finding Nemo!!! Dory's cool anyway :P
With unraveled embroidery and fraying hems, the Traveling Pants are back for one last, glorious summer. Lena: Immerses herself in her painting and an intoxicating summer fling, fearing that the moment she forgets about Kostos will be the moment she sees him again. Carmen: Falls under the spell of a sophisticated college friend for whom a theatrical role means everything and the heritage of the Pants means nothing. Bridget: Joins a dig for an ancient city on the coast of Turkey and discovers that her archaeology professor is available in every way except one. Tibby: Leaves behind someone she loves, wrongly believing he will stay where she has left him. Join Ann Brashares's beloved sisterhood once again in a dazzling, fearless novel. It's a summer that will forever change the lives of Lena, Carmen, Bee, and Tibby, here and now, past and future, together and apart.

This one was different, but still really good. I don't know if I'll continue the series until later though, cause I've just got too much stuff on my hands! (too much stuff = more books, EXAMS, moving to Singapore)
My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.
All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary.
I don't even know what that means anymore.
It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.
Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone.
To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens.
Yet the home isn't what it seems.
Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye.
The question is, whose side are they on?
It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.
The thing is how do I know who's on my side or who's betraying me?

YES!!! My Pal, Alex and I were waiting for this...but not for too long :P I saw this one @ Walmart for 30% IN HARDCOVER and I was like, I AM SOO GETTING THAT BOOK...and plus Alex would have killed me if I didn't. It was also really sad to find out that this was the LAST book of the Airhead series!!! anyway, review's coming soon!
Emerson Watts is on the run: from school, from work, from her family, from her friends, from herself. With everyone she loves furious with her for something she can't explain, and nothing but the live Stark Angel fashion show on New Year's Eve to look forward to, Em's reached the end of her rope. . .what's the point of even going on? But when she discovers the truth about Nikki's secret, she knows there's only one person she can turn to. Will Christopher be able to put aside his personal feelings and help her expose her employer to the world? Is it even fair to get Christopher involved--since if he agrees, there's every chance that Stark Enterprises will try to have them both killed--this time, permanently? Maybe it would be better for Em to just keep on running.

My AMAZING Friend Katie gave this to me as a Going-away gift (moving to Singapore) and when I first received it, like in the packet, all I could see was "Riordan" and then I take the book out quickly and start freaking out. This I'm starting to read, and it's amazing so far...I love how the chapter names are funny like they were in PJ and the Olymps!
Since their mother’s death, Carter and Sadie have become near strangers. While Sadie has lived with her grandparents in London, her brother has traveled the world with their father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius Kane. One night, Dr. Kane brings the siblings together for a "research experiment" at the British Museum, where he hopes to set things right for his family. Instead, he unleashes the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him to oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives. Soon, Sadie and Carter discover that the gods of Egypt are waking, and the worst of them -- Set -- has his sights on the Kanes. To stop him, the siblings embark on a dangerous journey across the globe -- a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family, and their links to a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.
Anyway, that's all for now, but I'll be back soon! (I hope..) next book blog will be Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins! I PROMISE!! and OHH!!! yeah, me and my fellow commenters, Hanaa and Alex, will be doing a list, kinda like Mia Thermopolis' List of Hot Guys with Commentary by Lily Moskivitch (I kno I spelt that wrong :P), except it's BOOK Character Guys!!! BYe for now, and ttyl8er!
