Top Ten Tuesday - Week 5

"Top Ten Tuesday" is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's Top Ten list is: Top Ten Most Inspirational Characters.

1. Katniss from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I find Katniss a really strong character. She also stands up for what's right and protects her family. She's a character that's so different from others. She's amazing!

2. Stargirl from Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. Oh. My. GOD. I fell in love with this girl. She's quirky, she's fun, she's amazingly original and stands out from other people. She doesn't really care so much about what people think, she just does what her heart tells her. GO STARGIRL!

3. Helen from Nobody's Princess by Esther Friesner. Helen's an amazing character. She looks for adventure and she takes the chance of going through danger. She just wants to do as she pleases and she manages to get away with it. The fact that Helen was a real person makes this even more real.

4. John from Here, There Be Dragons by James A. Owen. John is a strong character. Even though he doesn't want to go on the quest and thinks he's the worst person for the job. But in the end he takes on the adventure and takes the responsibility of becoming a Caretaker of the Imaginarium Geographica.

5. Percy from Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Percy is a hilarious character, and he's strong, brave and (most of the time) fearless. His quest starts off with him trying to save his mom. That's some dedication (well no duh, it's his mom!).

6. Stark from the House of Night series by PC and Kristin Cast. He's dedicated, loyal and so damn hot. Need I say more?

7. Emily from Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. I find Emily such a sweet character. So much happens to her and it's just so sad. With her parents, Maya, then Toby, and then Isaac, it's all hard on Emily. I feel so sorry for the girl and I find her (in my opinion) the best on the TV series :).

8. Jane from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. Plain, Mistreated by her own family, and driven nearly mad by love, Jane is an amazing character, and shows how beauty doesn't matter. Her story's a hard one and as she goes through many twists and turns through life, Jane becomes stronger and more in our favor each time.

9. Oliver from Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz. He's loyal to Schyuler, he's an amazing friend, and he'll do anything to protect her and make her happy. Oliver is an amazing fictional guy. Seriously, there's no doubt about it.

10. Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien/Dumbledore from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I found both characters to be so similar (and similarly amazing) I decided to put both. Both Gandalf and Dumbledore care for Frodo/Harry and guide them along their journey. They're always there when things get worse and even sacrifice their lives for them. GO THEM!

Well, that was my Top Ten of this week! Leave a link/comment in the comments and tell me your Top Ten Tuesday!

  2. I just finished The Hunger Games and Katniss is a great choice. Also, Jane Eyre didn’t make my top 10, but she was probably number 11.

  5. I had Katniss as well. Jane Eyre is on my TBR list for this year, can't wait to get into it. Gandalf is a good choice too, I had Aragorn on my list.
